Woodward’s History

Woodward’s Gripe Water was founded by William Woodward of Nottingham UK, in 1851.

Since then, millions of mothers all over the world have placed their trust on its efficiency to provide safe and symptomatic relief from stomach discomfort of their babies.

Woodward's Gripe Water was introduced in India by the TTK Group ninety years ago, as one of its flagship products. It still continues to be, and also continues to earn the trust of generations of mothers, alongside.

Woodward’s Gripe Water - What does it contain?

To know Woodward’s well, it is essential to understand its formulation. Woodward's Gripe Water is a caring combination of Dill seed oil and Sarjikakshara that provides symptomatic relief to infants, babies and children from stomach pain caused due to gas, acidity, and indigestion.

Notably, Woodward's Gripe Water is absolutely alcohol-free.

Also, it is not unusual for a bottle of Woodward's Gripe Water to be opened 2-3 times a day, allowing its contents to be exposed to the environment regularly, for a period of a few weeks. This repeated exposure makes such an item susceptible to the bacteria/ fungi /microbes present in the air. Therefore, to safeguard the health of your infant, Woodward's Gripe Water contains anti-microbial agents that inhibit the growth of these microbes within it. These include Parabens, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate - a broad spectrum anti-bacterial agent.

Our processes ensure that even the quantity of anti-microbial agents used in Woodward's Gripe Water is extremely minimal. It is subject to constant scrutiny, and is unerringly maintained far less than the permitted limits. Some of them are as low as 4% of the permissible limit.

Parabens and Sodimum Benzoate are declared as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration). GRAS is the most widely accepted international standard for food safety. It denotes that the ingredient is safe for consumption within permitted limits.
